You know your brother's vain when...

Journal Entry: Mon Jul 7, 2008, 11:41 AM
You know your brother's vain when:

Your hair straighteners go missing;
You have to borrow a hairdryer off him;
He has more toiletries than you;
He takes longer over his hair than you;
He goes shopping for shoes and clothes more than you.

To be continued...

(by the way I can't change the 'sympathy' icon, but then again maybe I do need sympathy with a brother like this!)

Feeling :-(

Journal Entry: Tue Jun 24, 2008, 5:23 AM
I've had ME/Chronic Fatigue Symdrome for over five years now and the past eight months I've really taken a step back. I've got no energy, I can't drive now cos I'm too tired and haven't got the concentration. Last year it felt like I'd reached a turning point but now I feel I've taken a massive step back. I've lost the small ounce of freedom I'd created by learning to drive cos I'm not up to it now. I've never had a job cos I'm not up to working, even though I'd love one.
I try to revert to reading loads at times like these, and that and watching Doctor Who have helped. I've tried some artwork but am finding it hard to find inspiration.
Sorry about the moaning. On a more cheerful note I found out yesterday I got a disitnction in the aromatherapy course I finished in April! Yay!

London

Went to London last week and had a great time. Saw Phantom of the Opera - OMG I am in love with that show! Have only seen the movie before but REALLY want to go back and see the stage show again.

The British museum has some great Egyptian and Aztec stuff, as well as a crystal skull!
The Terracotta Army exhibition was a bit disappointing though. There wasn't a lot there really and they kept cramming people in so it was hard to see some of the objects. The best bit was towards the end when we actually got to see some of the warriors. They are incredible! But I think I'd rather pay to go to China to see the in-situ, because the exhibition didn't have much of an atmosphere unfortunately - other than of chaos.

The Tutankhamun exhibition was a completely different story. They had loads of beautiful artefacts from his tomb and from the tombs of his earlier family members. It was very well spaced out, and even though we were behind a group of about 40 school kids we could still see everything.

Overall a really enjoyable break, and next time I want to get to the Natural History Museum to see the dinosaurs :-)
